St Mary's is a friendly school with a Christian
ethos. It is welcoming to children of all faiths and backgrounds.
We have a fantastic school site but we never
sit still; we are always looking for ways to improve the learning
environment in order to make the school a place where both children and
staff want to be and want to learn. Last summer we refurbished the early
year's classrooms and provided a new outside play area on raised
decking. We also extended our ICT capacity into all classrooms with the
provision of interactive whiteboards that are connected into a whole
school network. Thinking ahead, we have installed a wireless system
across the school so that as we grow, we will have the facilities to
enable children to use laptops across the curriculum. This is part of an
ongoing programme of improvements that we are putting in place. This
summer we are planning to refurbish the school hall and the back of the
school.
We believe that education is a partnership
between home and school and that children succeed best when their
parents and school work together. We believe that parents and carers
have a key role to play and as a school we value what they have to
contribute and what they have to say.
